As the 2024 season approaches, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the 2023 memories. Why, because while I shoot to capture the beauty my client's special days, these memories are mine too. Seriously, what a fantastic job I have. I go to a party every weekend. Listen to great music, celebrate awesome friends, watch some incredible dancing. But most importantly, I get to meet new people, my clients. My clients become my friends and their memories become mine. But I don't just shoot weddings, I do so much more.
Spring is prime engagement season, the final senior sessions before graduation and the Superheroes Believe in Miracles calendar time. This is when I am gifted the opportunity to meet some young, brave and super adorable people. I'd like to tell you some of their stories. Grab your tissues.
This is Rayna. She is four years old and battles B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma... but she is so adorable and is able to jump as high as the moon is in the sky.
This is Cinderella... no wait, this is Scarlett. She is six years old and a princess who has B Cell Acute Lymphoblasic Leukemia. This princess has grace and so much charm, she doesn't even need a prince charming.
Calder, aka Batman, doesn't let Spina Bifida hold him back. This 9-year-old has impeccable driving skills, he wheels his bat mobile wheelchair around better than a Nascar driver.
Oh dear, you better put your hands up, because Weston, age 7 takes being a police officer very seriously. He had me in handcuffs by the end of his session. Weston battles Epilepsy, and Polymicrogyria Septo-Optic Dysplasia.
Sweet Melody, while her hair may be letting her Rapunzel hair down in this picture, she is growing her natural hair back from her battle with Ewings Sarcoma at age 8.
Emilia is just a sweet little peach and is protected by her big brother while she takes on ATRT Brain Cancer at age four.
Leo might look freezing here dressed a FRO zone, but he is really just a cool 6-year-old kiddo and doesn't let B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia hold him back from giving the biggest hugs ever.
Addison is truly a wonder girl; she is 8 years old and undergone a bone marrow transplant for her Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
And Sawyer, should definitely not hide his adorable 7-year-old face under that Spiderman mask. While battling Autism, he can still do whatever a spider does!
These children have truly impacted my life. They are strong beyond anyone's imagination. I am humbled to be able to capture these superheroes for who they truly are, and they encourage me to be a better person.
Spring and summer are also prime senior session time. This is when the young adults come out and boy do they show up!
Let's take a look at some of my Senior Sessions...
And of course, what I am doing in the remainder of my time throughout the year is ... weddings and engagements. Each couple's wedding is so unique, but one thing remains the same ... the love.
Take a peek at just a few of the 2023 weddings and engagement sessions as we get ready for peak wedding season 2024!
Thanks for joining me on my journey around western Pennsylvania for the Reflection of Behind the Shutter 2023. There is so much more we are scheduled to capture in 2024! So, stay tuned for more memories.
